Canton Resident Charged With Felony For Leaving Scene of Accident

According to a press release from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, on Friday, January 22, 2016, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office received information that Darren C. Marshall, age 40, of Canton, Missouri, had wrecked and then hidden his vehicle in a shed in rural Lewis County, Missouri.
After further investigation, members of law enforcement located Mr. Marshall’s GMC Sierra pickup in a shed north of Canton, Missouri. The vehicle had been wrecked.
Mr. Marshall was subsequently arrested for the Class D Felony of Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident. Mr. Marshall was released from the Lewis County Jail after posting a $10,000 cash only bond.
This matter was investigated by both the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
