Lady Raiders Defeat Community R-6 65-33

The North Shelby Lady Raiders used the three-ball to open up an early lead against Community R-6 enroute to a 65-33 win on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at North Shelby High School.
Hadlee Parsons and Ally Rich opened the game with back-to-back threes to give the Lady Raiders a 6-0 lead. After a basket by Community R-6, Parsons hit her second three to give North Shelby a 9-2 lead with 6:01 on the clock in the first quarter.
Mallory Griffin later added an old fashioned three-point play after making her free throw. A few minutes later, Rich connected for her second three of the game. North Shelby led 15-8 with 3:23 left in the first quarter.
Finley Parsons added another three points with 13 seconds remaining in the half, when she was fouled and completed the three-point play with a free throw, to give North Shelby a 20-10 lead after one quarter.
Both teams traded baskets early in the second quarter. The Lady Raiders started to stretch the lead midway through the quarter when Clara Uhlmeyer hit a basket, Griffin followed with a free throw, and Finley Parsons hit a three to cap a 6-0 run and give North Shelby a 34-17 lead with 2:04 left in the half.
Sadie Gander hit a three with 1:01 left on the clock and a late basket by Finley Parsons gave the Lady Raiders a 39-21 lead at the half.
With North Shelby leading by 20 points, Harper Copenhaver hit a basket, followed by a three from Hadlee Parsons. Griffin scored and Rich hit a three to cap a 10-0 run. The lead had quickly ballooned to 54-28, which was the score at the end of three quarters.
Gander hit a three to give North Shelby a 57-30 lead early in the fourth quarter. Taylin Prange came off the bench and scored the final eight points for the Lady Raiders who cruised to the 65-33 win.
Griffin led the Lady Raiders in scoring with 14 points, followed by Hadlee Parsons and Rich with 11 points each. Finley Parsons added nine points.
The Lady Raiders finish the regular season schedule with a 16-10 record. They played Atlanta in the first round of the Class 1, District 11 Tournament on Monday, February 23, in La Plata. Results will be in next week’s issue. With a win, North Shelby would face the winner of the Green City/Novinger game on Wednesday, February 25, beginning at 7:15 p.m. The district championship game would be Friday, February 27, beginning at 6:00 p.m. if the Lady Raiders were to advance to that game.
