NAUVOO GRAPE FESTIVAL PAGEANT since 1938

One of the best-known traditions of the annual Nauvoo Grape Festival is the Grape Fest Pageant, which portrays the history of Nauvoo from the Native Americans to the present day.  The script for this historical pageant is based upon the timeline of Nauvoo history. It has been presented each year since 1939 during the Grape Festival in the natural amphitheater, called the Sod Stage in the Nauvoo State Park. This is just a stone’s throw from the Rheinberger Museum and it’s 156-year-old vineyard where Nauvoo’s wine industry began.

NORTHEAST MISSOURI CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS TO HOLD 90TH ANNUAL MEETING

 The Northeast Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its 90th Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Banquet at 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2007.  The meeting will be held in Hannibal at the Star Theatre on 215 South Main Street.  Anyone who has donated blood, time or financial support to the Northeast Missouri Chapter or is interested in the work of the American Red Cross is invited to attend.

QUINCY UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES NEW FACULTY MEMBERS

 First-year students aren’t the only ones making a special effort to begin feeling at home on the QU campus.  Seven new faculty members are attending full days of orientation on August 13 and 14 in addition to participating in the slate of informational meetings that greet all faculty and staff at the beginning of each year.
