Whenever two powerhouse teams like the Clark County Indians and Brookfield Bulldogs meet, you can never be sure who the winner will be, but you can always expect a great game.  Friday night’s matchup at Burlington Field was no exception. 

   Knox County rolled up 402 rushing yards and limited a youthful Westran Hornet team to five first downs and 130 yards from scrimmage on the way to a 44-0 victory at Huntsville. Lucus Hudson set two career milestones with three touchdowns and led all ground gainers with 158 yards on only nine carries.

Scotland County evened their season record with Knox County, scoring seven runs in the first inning of a September 11 Tri-Rivers Conference softball match up and went on to a 14-3 win. The Lady Tigers (3-7, 1-1) got home runs from Deidra Dochterman and Kelly Lister during the first two innings of the five inning affair.

Winfield (8-1) allowed only two runs on the way to winning the championship of the 2007 Louisiana Softball Invitational Tournament. Megan Kerr had two RBI’s and Jessica Bals hit a Warrior home run during a 4-0 win over Mark Twain (8-5) in the championship game. Brittany Sitton struck out 11 Tiger batters. Winfield displayed a sound fundamental game throughout the tournament.
